Hello everyone.
Today we continue to introduce red wines from the Tuscan winery CIMA Cima.
MASSARETTA Candia dei Colli Apuani DOC 2015
Massaretta Candia dei Colli Apuani
Barsaglina Barsaglina 100%.
They call this grape Massaletta in honor of the land. At the end of the 20th century, the Balsalina grape was on the verge of extinction, but now its regional peculiarity has attracted curiosity and interest from other regions as well, Today, it extends its growing area to the southeastern part of Liguria.
Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks, followed by 12 months in barriques. Then it was aged for another 6 months in bottle. The wine is a concentrated ruby color with purple tints. Aromas of violet, plum, cassis, blueberry jam, tobacco, and coffee. Soft, strong, sweet tannins on the firm palate. Recommended with hard cheeses and stewed meats.
ROMALBO Toscana IGT 2015
romarbo
A blend of Sangiovese 85% and Massaretta 15%
Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 4 weeks, followed by 16 months in barriques. Then it was aged for 8 months in bottle. The wine is a dark ruby color with purple tints. The nose has aromas of ripe American cherries and spicy notes of vanilla, nutmeg, and black pepper from the oak barrels. The palate is soft and powerful, with a firm body. Soft, elegant tannins and mild acidity. Would be good with fine red meats, gibier, and aged cheeses.
We will continue to introduce red wines from this winery in our next issue.
Thank you all for your continued support.
